Your team says it does Scrum. The meetings have new names, and the work still moves like a waterfall project. Angela calls it a waterfall hangover.
This two-day class is for the person who has to fix it. Whether you are a new ScrumMaster, a team member, or about to be handed the role, you will leave knowing how Scrum is supposed to work and how to guide a team there.
Who is teaching
Angela Johnson, CST®, CLP®, has 25+ years of experience guiding Agile transformations. She has trained thousands of people and helped teams in healthcare, finance, and education. She is one of the first Scrum Alliance Path to CSP Approved Educators.
What you will work through
- The Agile Manifesto, Scrum values, and how Scrum compares to Waterfall
- The ScrumMaster, Product Owner, and team roles, including what each is responsible for and has authority over
- Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, and Release Planning
- Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, the Increment, and what "Done" really means
- A Scrum simulation and a class retrospective, so you practice instead of just listening
What you leave with
The CSM exam is included. Per Scrum Alliance, it is 50 multiple-choice questions, you need 37 to pass, and your tuition covers two attempts within 90 days. Pass, and you earn the Scrum Alliance badge and membership. The class is also eligible for 14 PMI PDUs.
